African Hand Drums to Promote Movie, The Visitor, to Be Provided by World Wide Drums, LLC
BURNSVILLE, Minn. (Business Wire EON) November 17, 2008 -- "We have strong relationships with excellent craftspeople around the world. Those relationships have enabled us to work with companies like Overture Films and support the growing popularity of African drumming in the United States and elsewhere," said Nick Zwack, Owner, World Wide Drums.
In the movie, The Visitor, music plays an important role. Two of the main characters connect over a djembe drum. The djembe drum, pronounced jembe, is a goblet shaped hand drum that is a popular African percussion instrument. African drumming is gaining in popularity in school curriculums, drum circles and healing institutions.
"World Wide Drums, LLC provided the finely crafted djembe drums that we will be sending out to various people in the movie industry as we promote the film," said a spokesperson for Overture Films.
